DESCRIPTION:2018 DLI Registration deadline is August 10. \n\nThe Decatur Leadership Institute is a community-wide effort\, facilitated by the Greater Decatur Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Ameren Illinois\, to ensure high-quality citizen leadership to meet the present and future challenges that face the Decatur area. The program fills the need experienced by many communities for active involvement of informed and dedicated citizens in leadership roles throughout the community.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPurpose\n\nDecatur Leadership Institute (DLI) has been developing citizen leaders since 1985. The list of past graduates is full of community leaders who now serve on various boards\, commissions and committees throughout the Decatur and Macon County area. The future of Macon County is linked to the quality of its leadership. Be part of that future and become an active\, motivated leader through the Decatur Leadership Institute! \n\n Get involved in effecting positive change within the community \n Build strong relationships to lead and serve the Decatur/Macon County community \n Experience a behind-the-scenes look at community government\, business and municipalities\n\n\nThis community has a lot more than meets the eye. I keep saying that I didn't know this existed\, or I didn't know these people did that. Decatur has had a lot of surprises\, and hopefully a lot more. This class already completed its goal and changed the way I view Decatur\, and the story I tell. ~member\, DLI Class of 2016\n\n\nProgram\n\nProgram participants attend 14 once-a-week sessions\, typically on Thursday mornings from 6:45 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.\, where they experience on-site learning and gain an inside view of the industries and issues that shape our region. The program also entails group-based service learning projects and concludes with a graduation ceremony in December. $650per person includes:\n\n Orientation & team building session with dinner\n 13 additional sessions \n "Light carb & coffee" at each session\n 1 admission to the October 4 Community Leaders Breakfast\, sponsored by the Herald & Review\n Lunch & transportation to and from Springfield State Capitol (Legislative Session)\n 1 Admission to December 2018 Chamber Business Breakfast (project presentations)\n 2 admissions to DLI Graduation Dinner (you & a guest)\n\n\nDownload an application to get started.\n\n2018 DLI Overview & Graduation Requirements\n\n2018 DLI Tentative Schedule
