SUMMARY:Manufacturers Roundtable: Equalizing Hiring Demand & Supply
DESCRIPTION:OUR AGENDA: \n\n\n	Be present to receive the full confidential report from the Manufacturing Skills committee on a prototype to develop job-ready candidates.\n	Decide next steps.\n\n\n\n\nThis is an invitation-only Manufacturers Roundtable\, exclusive to members of the Greater Decatur Chamber of Commerce:\n\n\n\nManufacturers\, City and Economic Development officials\, Business Partners\, and invited guests have previously met in open dialog specific to their interests and goals. In previous meetings\, Round Table participants determined their top priority is to fill the void of qualified\, dependable entry-level manufacturing candidates\, and existing approaches have not met the full need. This process began in April 2017 and in August 2017 the Round Table charged a small committee with the task of developing a curriculum or other innovative approach to the ongoing "Hiring Gap". \n\n\n\nThat committee has been active and now is prepared to report its results: a detailed proposal for a rigorous non-academic skills training program specifically designed to develop job-ready candidates.\n\n\n\nClick here for an Executive Summary of the full confidential report. Those who attend the March 21 meeting at Tate & Lyle will receive a confidential copy of the full report on the prototype for training.\n\n\n\nThe Question:\n\nWhat will it take to build a non-academic training pathway sufficient to create a pool of dependable candidates with the basic skills to meet the needs of local manufacturers?\n\n\n\nAdvanced Registration is required. You must be on our guest list to enter the Tate & Lyle property on March 21.
