Civil Engineer III (Project Manager)

Chastain has an immediate opening for a Civil Engineer with eight or more years of experience as a Project Manager leading a team in all aspects of highway/roadway and traffic engineering type projects from our Decatur, Illinois office location.  This position will include planning, developing, designing, and managing civil engineering projects mainly for IDOT and public agency clients.  This position is open to a hybrid work model after a probation period.
 
Job Responsibilities
The Project Manager will perform various engineering tasks by applying standard engineering techniques and analyses within the civil engineering discipline.  Responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to:  management and supervision of entire design process, preparation of plans, specifications and estimates; coordinating all disciplines in the project, all subconsultants, and most importantly, the client.  This position is responsible for keeping projects on schedule and within budget, performing or ensuring QA/QC is completed on all projects. Responsibilities will also include business development and building client relationships for various public sector clients.
 
Job Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, be a licensed Professional Engineer with the State of Illinois, and have eight or more years of experience as a Project Manager providing transportation engineering services.  Strong oral and written communication skills, presentation skills, and the ability to work in a team environment are required.  Traffic signal system experience and/or project experience with IDOT are a plus.​
