DESCRIPTION:ThinkWell Makerspace is bringing back one of its most unique and entertaining traditions: Belt Sander Drag Racing. As part of its anniversary celebration on Saturday\, April 25 from 1 PM to 8 PM\, participants and spectators alike are invited to experience the spectacle of belt sanders racing head-to-head in a custom track competition. Racers can bring their own belt sanders to compete in either the unmodified division (cosmetic changes only) or modified division (mechanical modifications allowed). Races begin at 1 PM and will feature heats and finals based on participation. Entry is free. Safety guidelines prohibit the use of compressed air or rocketry. The Belt Sander Drag Races will take place alongside the ThinkWell Anniversary Market\, where visitors can browse up to 20 local vendors\, explore the makerspace\, and connect with the creative community. "This is the kind of event you don't see every day\," a representative said. "It's part engineering\, part creativity\, and 100% fun to watch." The event is free and open to the public at ThinkWell Makerspace\, located at 120 N. Franklin St.\, upstairs at the library. Parking is available in the library lot and nearby downtown parking garage.
