Specifically for owners and managers of small businesses who want to learn more about OSHA operations and procedures, and how to work with OSHA to prevent or reduce injuries and illnesses in their workplace. Topics include introduction to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), OSHA standards, the inspection process, implementing a safety and health program, worker training requirements and assistance available to small businesses.
Instructor Barry Schwalbe is a Training Coordinator at Richland Community College in Decatur, IL. Barry is an OSHA authorized instructor, Red Cross instructor, and is the training center coordinator and instructor for the American Heart Association at Richland. He has 20 years of experience in environmental chemistry and is a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM). Barry has a degree in chemistry from Eastern Illinois University and an MBA from the University of Illinois at Springfield.
