Description

The Behavioral Health Specialist is responsible for helping to ensure quality flow with the daily operations of the Recovery Home (Transitions), the Residential Treatment Facility and/or the SUD Outpatient Elements facility. The Behavioral Health Specialist role includes ensuring patients/residents are in compliance with the milieu and service expectations, completing intake documentation and facilitation of group therapy. Behavioral Health Specialists are also responsible for assisting with crisis management.  This individual consults with medical and clinical staff on behavioral health issues of patients.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for intake of patients/residents into the Recovery Home and/or Residential Treatment Facility
  • Facilitate group counseling focused on life skills and recovery
  • Ensures compliance of patients/residents with rules and expectations
  • Immediately report concerns of any nature to director supervisor
  • Under supervision, manages the care of patients in collaboration with other health professionals and members of the healthcare team in order to make decisions about treatment and attain health goals
  • Receives referrals, provides 1:1 support to patients/residents as warranted, and maintains and records all pertinent patient information in a secure and accurate manner
  • May be required to work across multiple sites, including the community care campus and the jail setting
  • Vigilant to safety concerns and takes appropriate steps to ensure both patient and staff safety
  • Performs other duties as required
