Description
Decatur-Macon County Opportunities Corporation (DMCOC) will celebrate their 50th Anniversary on Friday, July 18, at 11:30 AM with a Greater Decatur Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 1122 East Marietta Street in Decatur.
DMCOC was formed in late 1964 through a combined effort of Macon County and the City of Decatur. As an independent and private not-for-profit organization, the agency has provided a wide variety of activities and services to benefit the low-income and elderly persons in Macon County throughout their 50 year history.
“As we look forward to the years ahead, our Agency will continue to provide assistance in meeting the ongoing needs of our customers, as well as promoting activities to assist them in maintaining self-sufficiency,” says Robert Archer, Fiscal Officer for DMCOC.
There will be a reception following the ribbon cutting ceremony. This is a free event and all members of the community are invited to join. Advance registration is not required.
