Shipping and Receiving Clerks

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Clerks to manage the physical and clerical tasks for incoming and outgoing shipments in Decatur, IL. This role involves verifying cargo against records, maintaining inventory logs, and preparing goods for transport. This is a non-forklift position requiring consistent physical activity and high attention to detail.

Pay Rate $20.40 per hour

Shift Schedule 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Shift availability required

 

Essential Responsibilities

• Unload incoming materials and inspect shipments for damage or shortages against purchase orders.

• Prepare finished goods for shipment by packaging, weighing, and labeling per carrier requirements.

• Use Microsoft Excel to track inventory levels, update manifests, and generate daily reports.

• Sort and stock materials on racks or in bins according to facility sequences.

• Conduct periodic physical cycle counts to ensure inventory system accuracy.

• Pick orders by reading work orders and gathering items for distribution.

• Follow 5S protocols to maintain a clean, organized, and safe loading dock.

Required Skills

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs regularly and stand for 8-hour shifts.

• Proficiency with manual material handling equipment like pallet jacks and hand trucks.

• Strong verbal and written communication for driver and team coordination.

• Consistent attendance and ability to work overtime based on shipping volume.

Preferred Skills

• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (data entry, basic formulas, and spreadsheet management).

• 1–3 years of experience in a high-volume warehouse or distribution center.

• Previous exposure to Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or ERP software.
