Laboratory Technician

The employee in this position will be working under the direction of scientists in the lab to prepare and analyze samples using laboratory instrumentation. Daily responsibilities will include preparation of reagents and solutions, conducting routine analytical procedures, and reporting results while keeping detailed scientific records of the work. 

Candidates must have a high school diploma (or equivalent) and a minimum of 1-2 years of experience working in a laboratory.  The ideal candidate will have some college coursework in chemistry and should be familiar with operation of standard lab equipment (ex: pH meter, balances, pipettes).  Experience with personal computers and Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is highly recommended.  Experience with laboratory instrumentation (ICP, HPLC, GC, FTIR) is preferred. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to work successfully in a team environment.  Candidates must be capable of working in an organized fashion on many projects simultaneously.  This position requires the ability to stand or to work on a computer for an extended period of time.
