Description
What is Leadership Masters?
Leadership Masters is a ten-week program that equips leaders, at any career stage within local businesses, to produce the results necessary for their businesses to thrive and grow. It includes intensive character- and results-based executive coaching, collaborative learning, and applied training to develop “bench strength” within local business, non-profit, and government entities. This does not replace the time-proven, annual citizenship course affectionately known as DLI (Decatur Leadership Institute) -- Leadership Masters is distinctly different in method and outcome.
Leadership Masters is NOT a lot of talking about leadership. DLI Masters is NOT a lot of leaders talking at you. It is NOT based on purely academic or theoretical content about leadership, and it is NOT focused on the generic or amalgamated interests of every possible organization represented.
- Yes, there is world-class, research-based and experiential content,
- Yet the agenda is the product of the individual participant, his/her organization and/or business unit: your business strategy, your plan, your goals.
- Yes, it does improve the leadership competency of participants,
- Yet competency is built upon their unique existing strengths, goals and the results that are needed in the businesses in which they work.
- Yes, there are specific learning objectives and expected outcomes to the DLI Masters process,
- Yet, the business objectives and desired outcomes of participants and their companies are the primary focus.
- Yes, you may still promote super workers to supervisors,
- Yet, you will be advancing your business based on the focused potential of inspired, more experienced leaders, rather than solely on their past performance as workers and merely the hope that they can lead.
People at all career stages who want to lead others to produce desired results; MASTERS is especially powerful for Emerging Leaders and mid-career professionals. This is ideal for companies without succession planning or formal leadership development processes in place. Ideally, each class of 15 people will include a cross-section of organizational leadership from for-profit businesses, non-profits, and government entities.
What is the value to my company for the cost of the program?
Leadership Masters gives you a local, affordable, and high-payoff solution to develop people who can lead effectively now and in the future. The focus is on your business strategy, your plan, your goals, your results. The agenda is the product of the individual participant and organization or business unit. You set the goals you want to achieve that align with your organization’s mission and goals. In this way, Leadership Masters is extremely self-customizing when it comes to outcomes. And it all happens right here in Decatur, IL – no travel costs or lost time while out of town.
