Special Agent, Cyber Squad
Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)
The Federal Bureau of Investigation is the lead federal agency for investigating cyber attacks by criminals, overseas adversaries, and terrorists. As cyber intrusions become more commonplace, more dangerous, and more sophisticated, our nation’s critical infrastructure, including both private and public sector networks, are targeted by adversaries.
American companies are targeted for trade secrets and other sensitive corporate data and universities for their cutting-edge research and development; citizens are targeted by fraudsters and identity thieves; and children are targeted by online predators. The FBI consistently adapts to address the pervasive and evolving cyber threat.
Special Agent Holz will present “Emerging Threats in Cyber Security and Managing the Threat.”
ABOUT FBI Cyber Squad
As the primary investigative agency of the federal government for more than a hundred years, the responsibilities of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) have kept pace with ever-emerging threats and crime trends affecting the united States. The 21st century brings with it entirely new challenges, in which criminal and national security threats strike from afar through computer networks, with potentially devastating consequences. While the FBI must adapt to meet these challenges, addressing the broad range of threats to the nation’s cybersecurity is squarely within its mandate.
