Description
As part of our ongoing commitment to the Restaurant, Food and Beverage sector in Decatur and Macon County, we will host a 2017 roundtable discussion on current challenges, trends, and opportunities happening within the Decatur food and beverage service community. This event will be held on Wednesday, February 15 from 2 – 4 PM at the Chamber of Commerce lower level conference room. This year the group will collaborate on plans in advance of our local Restaurant Week, scheduled for March 20-26, 2017. We will also hear more about the Chamber's newest energy cost-saving program from Alternative Utility Services.
As a local leader in this service sector, your Chamber wants you to join us and contribute to the discussion. The restaurant, food and beverage industry provides both quality of life and a major revenue stream to our city – and we want to come together to help make it even stronger. Please RSVP by Thursday, February 9.
Applications will also be available for an annual $500 Greater Decatur Chamber of Commerce Restaurant Grant, sponsored by Richland Community College, to a participating restaurant for help with aesthetical improvements, educational offerings, or technology enhancements. The award winner will be announced during the Restaurant Week in March. In 2016, the Decatur Club won the award to advance their chef's education through additional culinary classes. In 2015, the Beach House won the award to enhance wireless capacity throughout the restaurant. We look forward to contributing to another business again this year.
