Description
On December 1, 2016, the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) final rule updating regulations under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) is scheduled to go into effect. The new rule more than doubles the standard salary level required to be exempt from overtime pay for salaried executive, administrative, and professional employees (often referred to as the "white collar exemptions"). This could significantly impact the bottom line of your business or non-profit.
Are you ready?
Do you know the difference between exempt, non-exempt and salaried employees? Are your employees classified correctly according to the DOL? Are you aware of the effect the new rule will have on your payroll, incentives and scheduling? Do you have a plan to mitigate costs? Are you aware of recent amendments to Illinois' unemployment insurance act, specifically the new definition of misconduct? If you cannot answer YES to any of these questions, you will find this informational seminar highly valuable.
Presented by Deb Stegall and Daniel Simmons, Partners in the law firm Heyl Royster Voelker & Allen, this program will also cover the recent Illinois unemployment insurance law changing the definition of misconduct.
A light lunch will be served.
