DISC Staff Assistant

SUMMARY
Staff Assistants monitor the gymnasiums, do cleaning, enforce DISC policies/procedures, regulate facility traffic, and work with supervisors to set up for various DISC events.  Staff Assistants report directly to the Assistant Manager or Building Supervisor and have no supervisory responsibilities.  Staff must be available to work evenings and weekends.
 
As the staff assistant, the general tasks/responsibilities will be taught to you during a formalized training period.   During this training period, several areas will be covered including, but not limited to:  safety, staff conduct, patron behavior, suspension policies, general maintenance, and event set up.  An itemized training guide will be issued to the staff member, outlining the specifics associated with these job tasks. These keys are to be returned to DISC management immediately following your discontinuation of employment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

 
  • Cleaning of the facility
  • Set-up tear down of programs and rentals
  • Patrol building during events/rentals
  • Enforce policies/procedures set forth by the Decatur Indoor Sports Center Management. 
  • Other duties may be assigned according to building needs.
  • Rock wall – if not being used assure ropes are tied off, assist with rentals, make sure pre-use inspection is complete, make sure cleaning is completed, make sure keys are returned, and rock wall supplies are locked up.
  • Bathrooms - spot check and clean, assure cleaning gets attended to if needed.
  • Follow the direction of the Building Supervisor throughout your shift.
  • Check FC stations for stocking and evaluate if FC needs cleaning (especially when no FC staff on duty).
  • Find tasks/work to do, or clock check with Supervisor and head home.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
