Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and kitchen management, with a focus on delivering exceptional dining experiences. As a Sous Chef, you will play a key role in supporting the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, presentation, and safety.

Duties

Plan, prepare, and execute restaurant-quality meals at high volume (200 meals/day)
Assist head chef in creating menus of innovative, unique, nutritious, and delicious meals
Assist head chef in monitoring and utilizing inventory by FIFO principles
Be an authority on food safety and sanitation principles
Guide up to 14 volunteers a day to aid with meal preparation and meal serving
Develop positive relationships with volunteers
Maintain recipes, SOPs, and other types of documentation outlining position responsibilities
Perform other duties as assigned
Experience

Food Protection Manager (previously Food Manager’s) License - will consider applicants who have previously held this license in the past 2 years - must be licensed within 30 days of hire
1-2 years experience working in a commercial kitchen
Great communicator and excel at working with others
Arrive on-time, ready-to-work for all shifts and utilize good time management
Work hard, have a great attitude, and support the mission of the Good Samaritan Inn
Work efficiently and effectively both independently and as a team member
Receive direction well and know when/be willing to ask questions
Take directions in English
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 35 per week
