Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Every Other Weekend

POSITION OVERVIEW

As an LPN at The Carriages of Decatur, your primary purpose is to deliver high-quality, holistic nursing care in accordance with professional nursing standards. You will oversee both licensed and non-professional staff in delivering direct resident care and supporting services. Experience working with Memory Care residents is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Record and monitor vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, etc.)

• Observe and document patient responses to treatment, including medication side effects

• Assist residents with daily living activities such as eating, bathing, and grooming

• Administer prescribed medications and treatments

• Provide emotional and psychological support to residents and their families

• Communicate effectively with residents’ families, providing updates, support, and instructions

REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS

• Current LPN license in good standing

• Previous experience as a licensed nurse

• Ability to perform a variety of care tasks in a collaborative team setting

• Familiarity with assisted living protocols and Memory Care

• Strong understanding of nursing ethics and confidentiality

• Excellent knowledge of medical and healthcare terminology

• Proficient with PointClickCare (preferred)

• Good physical condition and stamina

• Compassionate, resilient, and adaptable under pressure

• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
