Mammography technologist I- OP Rad
Working as a Mammography Technologist I you will perform screening mammograms utilizing mammography equipment in applying prescribed ionizing radiation to patients in order to aid in diagnosis and treatment. Performs basic quality control duties and assists in collecting regulatory data.
Required Skills
- Performs screening mammography procedures on patients of all ages, according to established standards, policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines.
- Determines proper equipment settings for each procedure, uses the proper equipment and cares for the equipment correctly.
- Understands processing, the equipment and all the requirements of a finished radiograph.
- Follows Radiation Safety Guidelines.
- Utilizes a working knowledge of the computer systems.
- Maintains a working knowledge of scheduling.
- Performs various quality control procedures and provide regulatory information.
- Performs other related work as required or requested.

Required Experience
Licensure/Certification/Registry:
- Registered radiographer (ARRT-R) in Radiography and Mammography in good standing or registry eligible required. If not otherwise specified by the professional licensing body, the maximum allowable time to practice in a “registration pending” status is three months.
- Active license in radiology from the Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety required.
- Maintains CPR Certification.
Experience:
- Maintains continuing experience of 200 mammograms every 24 months.
Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Completed 15 hours of specialized mammography training every 36 months.
- Satisfactorily completed mammography orientation.
