Pay range: $87,360 - $116,480

Key Responsibilities
- Counsel supervisors and managers on HR processes, employee relations, and best practices.
- Assist with recruitment, examination, selection, and onboarding processes to attract top talent.
- Oversee HR operations, provide guidance on policy decisions, and coordinate key activities to ensure smooth departmental functioning.
- Lead investigations related to employee discipline, discharge, grievances, ensuring compliance with HR laws and City policies.
- Serve as a key player in labor relations, including negotiations, contract management, and grievance resolution.
- Conduct research and provide data-driven insights for labor negotiations.
- Ensure compliance with Civil Service rules, EEO, ADA, and other employment regulations.
- Administer training programs to support employee development and enhance performance.
- Maintain personnel records and manage compensation, benefits, and position classifications.
- Develop and implement policies and programs to support a diverse and inclusive workplace.
Needed Knowledge & Skills
Experience:
At least 5 years of hands-on experience in:
- Human Resources management.
- Investigating matters of discipline and discharge.
- Counseling supervisors/managers on HR processes and legal compliance.
- Labor relations, contract negotiations, and grievance resolution.
Education:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Public Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- SPHR certification is a plus.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of HR principles, public personnel administration, and labor laws.
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical abilities.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to effectively guide and support employees at all levels.

Residency
Employees are required to reside within the corporate limits of Macon County or any municipality extending into Macon County. Upon initial appointment, employees may reside outside these limits but must comply with the residency requirement within 12 months to maintain employment.
