Medican Assistant

• Medical assistants (MA) who join HSHS Physician Enterprise are partnered with and supported by colleagues who have comprehensive, hands-on training and share the value of patient-fi rst initiatives.
• MA positions are offered in a variety of specialty departments or float pools at more than 30 locations in Illinois.
• Internal growth opportunities are offered for both medical assistant I and medical assistant II roles.

The Medical Assistant-Float is designated to float to clinics/departments based on the MA's competency level. The Medical Assistant-Float is required to complete appropriate competency and cross training to float to designated clinics/departments. Performs a wide variety of activities that may include both direct patient care, as well as administrative and laboratory functions, depending on the size of the assigned area. Direct patient care may include working with patients of all ages, in-person and over the phone, completing tasks involving the use of assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation skills. All patient care is provided under the direct supervision of the physician and/or mid-level provider. Medical assistants may also engage in reception activities, greeting and assisting patients and visitors, and help complete the business side of a patient visit. This position requires driving to other HSHS clinics, in the region as assigned.
