Business After Hours at Bistro 537 at Richland Community College Culinary Institute Campus

The Culinary Arts Institute of Richland Community College will celebrate on Wednesday, June 18, from 5 pm to 7 pm with a Greater Decatur Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at the west end of campus located at 1 College Park in Decatur.

The event will mark the opening of Bistro 537, a full service restaurant operated by students in Richland’s culinary arts program located on the Richland Community College campus.

“Bistro 537 will provide Richland’s culinary students the practical experiences necessary to equip them with the traits and skills they will need to be successful in the management of a restaurant,” says Dr. Gayle Saunders, President of Richland Community College.

Door prizes will be awarded: 2 dinner for 6 at Bistro 537. Hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be served. This is a free event and all members of the community are invited to join. Advance registration is not required.

About Bistro 537:
Bistro 537, is a full service restaurant located on the Richland Community College campus. It is operated by students in Richland’s culinary arts program. The restaurant is a working laboratory for students to receive hands on experience in the day-to-day operations of a restaurant. The food and menu at Bistro 537 will change monthly to incorporate different styles of cuisine and cooking techniques. This entrepreneurial experience is the capstone of the culinary program and ensures that graduates have the credentials and skills necessary to be successful in the culinary field.
