This is a permanent, full-time, exempt-level position located at ADM's operation in Decatur, IL.

Job Description:

The Capital Portfolio Analyst will be an integral part of the Operations team by directly supporting the Global Portfolio Team which oversees the allocation and administration of $1B in annual capital expenditures globally. This is a highly visible position that will aid the capital portfolio process from ideation to completion with three primary focus areas:

 

  • Supporting annual and long term capital planning across business units – The role will identify a portfolio of projects that fit ADM’s strategic goals. The analyst will also support and advise the Global Director of Capital Portfolio Management and the VP AMEP (Asset Management, Engineering, and Projects) on process & data improvements to drive consistent long term capital planning.
  • Driving capital discipline through enhanced portfolio oversight – This position will use data and technology to oversee key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor overall project portfolio. Additionally, the Analyst will assist in the review of major capital projects with focus on their cost/scoping structures and identifying cost optimization opportunities.
  • Collaborating with Finance and Operations to improve capital project financial management - The role will be integral in monitoring and enhancing capital spend forecasting to aid finance partners in more accurate cash flow forecasting. The analyst will assist in assessing requested changes to plan and articulate the impact.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Aggregate and analyze projects requests and various Subject Matter Expert inputs (asset health, structural/mechanical/electrical integrity, quality, food safety, and safety) to build an Annual and 5 year capital plan recommendation
  • Intake, analyze, and provide recommendations where applicable on requests for portfolio changes, contingency usage, and emergency needs
  • Administer and monitor portfolio KPI metrics and additional monitoring controls to drive portfolio stability
  • Organize data and information across multiple inputs and systems. Summarize & visualize information in clear and concise format in various mediums (PowerBI, PowerPoint, SharePoint, verbal presentation, etc.)
  • Analyze project data to support project level reviews to identify scope creep or over-servicing/scoping to drive towards right sized project budgets to maximize value delivery
  • Collaborate directly with BU (business unit) Finance teams to improve capital forecasting to drive improvement in BU cash flow forecasting
  • Support continuous improvement in capital request and evaluation process to drive improvement in investment benefit reporting and capital success
  • Support capital reporting to Senior Leadership
  • As needed provide support directly to operations teams to successfully build business cases to navigate approval processes
  • Communicate tactical information about portfolio processes to regional portfolio leads and operations teams
  • Generate or update documentation of portfolio process and policies
  • Support data-driven resource evaluation to ensure capital allocations align with execution abilities
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Finance, Engineering, Project Management, Business, or similar technical discipline
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in positions similar to engineering, capital projects, or operational finance
  • Experience using data analytics and valuation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of ADM Business Unit Segments, ADM operations, and/or ADM Capital Process is a plus
  • Experience with PowerBI or related analytical tools a plus
  • Strong communication skills as well as ability to interface with various levels of support and operational contacts
  • Results and continuous improvement oriented; able to contribute to initiatives that drive change
  • Project Management Professional / Risk Management Professional / Portfolio Management Professional or similar Certification is a plus

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

The pay range for this position is expected to be between:

 

$70,400.00 - $131,200.00

Salaried Incentive Plan

The total compensation package for this position will also include annual bonus
