Adjunct Faculty (Writing, Languages & Cultures)
Millikin University invites applicants for the position of Adjunct Spanish Instructor for the 2024–2025 Academic Year. The School of Writing, Languages & Cultures at Millikin is seeking adjunct faculty to:
Teach 4-credit introductory Spanish courses, which are required for all Bachelor of Arts Students at Millikin.
Develop and teach 3-credit upper-level Spanish language, literature, and/or culture special topics classes for students working to complete their Spanish major and minor requirements.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
Teach courses as assigned by the department.
Maintain regular office hours to assist students. Respond in a timely fashion to student correspondence, including student e-mails.
Assess student performance.
Maintain a professional attitude with all students, faculty, and staff.
Availability to teach in-person at Millikin University’s Decatur, Illinois, campus is preferred. However, faculty not located near Millikin University who have experience with teaching Spanish coursework online may be considered.
Qualified candidates must have an MA or PhD in Spanish language, literature, and/or culture or a related field and a record of teaching excellence. Interested candidates may submit a cover letter, CV and contact information for three professional references.
